Original will register inspected October 14, 2026: Chester County, Pennsylvania, Will Book P (volume 15), pages 63–65; Ancestry Pennsylvania, U.S., Wills and Probate Records, 1683–1993, collection 8802, record 1644800, images 005534148_00386 and 005534148_00387. John Scott describes himself as of Sadsbury Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Will signed January 27, 1824; probate/letters dated April 8, 1824 (the index labels the will date as probate). Names wife Rebecca; sons Samuel, John and Robert; daughters Mary wife of Robert Young, Sarah wife of Robert Hope, Rebecca, Elizabeth and Jane. Wife Rebecca and son Samuel are executors. This spouse and child cluster correlates with the existing John Scott Jr./Rebecca Witherow profiles and the 1981 Scott genealogy/Waldron compilation. The original does not state Rebecca’s maiden name, a marriage date, John’s parents, or the exact death date. Those details are not independently established by this will. Sadsbury is John’s stated residence at the will date, not a move-in date. Attachment reproduces register pp. 64–65 (image 387); opening residence statement is on p. 63 (image 386), available at the source URL. No new parent-child links are inferred solely from matching first names.
