Identity assessment: Angelina’s preserved January 14, 1900 Chicago marriage, 300.10.031, names Angelam Valle, parents Nicolai and Carmelae Margiotta, with birthplace previously read tentatively as Baragiano. This Italian birth act confirms the town and parental pair at the expected period. The original 1900 Chicago household (ED 599, sheet 17B, household 275) includes Angela with Nicola/Carmila and son-in-law Paolo Criola, strengthening the correlation. Its April 1881 birth assertion and later census estimates of about 1882 are less proximate reports. Prefer the contemporary birth act, retaining these census assertions in notes.
