Original 1: Chester County, Pennsylvania, Marriage Licenses 1893–1900, printed page 245, license 4614, bottom-right entry; FamilySearch image 134/630, https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GPXQ-JC3 ; index https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VFWY-179 . David J. Reese born Chester County 25 June 1866, resident Pomeroy, and Esther E. Phipps born Chester County 16 November 1871; both not previously married. License 24 January 1895; married 31 January 1895 at Parkesburg; return 6 February 1895. This page does not name their parents.
Original 2: 1900 U.S. census, Highland Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, ED76, sheet8B, enumeration16 June1900, household175/177, lines97–100, image16/17, https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-DRKS-5FV ; index https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M39J-1D3 . David Reese, head, has April1866 written, age34, married5years; wife indexed Elin (birthNovember1871); daughter and father-in-law Elihu Phipps. This confirms the Phipps household correlation but introduces a genuine April-versus-June conflict. Do not silently replace April with June or interpret the sheet's line-number index as exact household transcription.
Levering, Levering Family(1897), printedp401 entry3373, names David under Louisa(Kendig)andJodsonReese and gives25June1866, unmarried. Contemporary marriage supports the exact compiled date but 1900 conflicts and adult parentage still needs direct corroboration. 1870(age3) and1880(age14) source assertions remain preserved.
A source attached to FamilySearch tree KV2Y-JX4 dated1933 is Henry S. Reese's death, naming David as father (FN5J-9VN), NOT David's own death; no 1933 death conflict is asserted. Third-party tree attachments themselves are not identity proof. Next: baptism, David's obituary/death record naming Louisa/Judson, or family-linked probate. Chester County's official page says1885–1930 marriage applications are not digitized there; no paid request made.
