2 November 2026 — DeCaro/LaSala identity investigation; candidate and exclusion records, NOT a proved connection to the main tree.

1. Mezzojuso civil marriage 7 September 1888, act 36, right-hand page 19, DGS 007101150 item 51 image 20/35. Original visually read: Gioachino La Sala, unmarried, 22, mason, born Marineo and resident Mezzojuso, son of deceased Ciro and Giuseppa Diluvio/di Luvio, resident Marineo; bride Provvidenza Anselmo, unmarried, 31, daughter of deceased Salvatore and Fortunata Valenti. The mother's consent is cited as a notarized act of 28 May 1888 among the supporting papers. The exact parent pair and locality strongly support Gioachino as a brother of the Maria Cira La Sala born 30 December 1861 in the saved 1887 marriage packet (WEB-20261028-183700-c91140ed). It does not identify the 1911 traveller Giuseppa La Sala, prove that she is Maria Cira, or identify Carmelo in Brooklyn. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-997B-JT4P

2. Marineo marriage 1 February 1883, act 7, DGS 007101152 item 23 image 7/79. Original visually read: Carmelo La Sala, unmarried, 27, mason, born/resident Marineo, son of Giuseppe and Maria Cira D'Aversa (working surname reading); bride Giuseppa Giordano, unmarried, 22. This is NOT the Ciro/Giuseppa Diluvio parent pair; do not make him Maria Cira's full brother based only on surname/locality. His daughter Maria Cira's birth, 10 January 1884, act14, gives the same Carmelo/Giuseppa Giordano couple (transcript-screened 3QS7-L97B-V9G9). NYC index for Francesca La Sala, 3 October 1905, Manhattan certificate46606, lists Carmelo50 and Giuseppa Giordano44; original NYC certificate not inspected. 1910 Manhattan census index M5MR-PTT lists Carmello55, Josephine49, Mary12, Josephine10 and Frances5. The collaborative-tree attachment associates that census with a man born1876; that attachment conflicts with the census age and is NOT identity proof. 3. Brooklyn naturalization petition page284, 8 December 1902, image523/1380, reads Carmelo Lasola, barber, 448 North Second Street, born 4 February1874; exact arrival day not confidently read. The following oath image524 confirms the naturalization date. Different spelling and no parents: identification with the 1911 contact is UNPROVED. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSMR-W3VY-J https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSMR-W3VY-3

4. Antonio Leone naturalization petition, image547/1009, names witness Carmelo Lasala, barber, 157 North Fourth Street, Brooklyn. Driggs Avenue belongs to the petitioner (672; earlier declaration664), NOT this witness. Filing/sworn date appears to differ1912/1911 and remains qualified pending adjacent-page verification. Same-name/barber correlation is only a candidate bridge to the1902 man. Neither original establishes residence at106Driggs or kinship to the1911 travellers. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSMR-9Q8Z-M

The four original JPGs are preserved with this record. No new kinship, namesake merge, or exact person date is asserted. Associations to existing people are research context only. Remaining decisive checks: 1888 Gioachino marriage supplements and collateral births/deaths for Ciro/Giuseppa Diluvio; 106Driggs household/directories; MariaCira death or Antonino remarriage; identify the1911 Giuseppa independently.
