October 28, 2026 — PROVISIONAL — published family history. Recorded parents Elhanan Winchester Keyser and Maria Fox per Charles S. Keyser, The Keyser Family (1889), p. 132; inspected source packet WEB-20261008-214421-a180e0c0, https://archive.org/details/keyserfamilydesc00keys . Parentage remains unconfirmed by an original record. Existing original census, marriage transcription and son's death certificate support profile identity, not these parents. Earlier notes withholding this particular tree link reflect prior research stages.

14 October 2026 — The original 1880 census enumerates Catharine Wallace, 59, wife of William Wallace, 64, with daughters Emily and Bertha at 3414 Baring Street, Philadelphia on June 9, 1880. [[evidence:WEB-20261014-153020-54321217|Original census]]. Correlated with Katharine Frances Keyser through this distinctive household, prior church marriage transcription and daughters’ death records. Emily’s 1922 certificate names the mother Katharine S. Keyser; the middle initial appears S and remains an explicit discrepancy, not silently corrected. [[evidence:WEB-20261014-152653-23beb346|Emily’s death certificate]]. Prior research is preserved below.

8 October 2026 - Keyser and Wallace family research, second round

Page 132 lists four children of Katherine Frances Keyser and William Henry Wallace: William Henry Jr., born May 28, 1844; Frederick Rodman, September 25, 1847; Emily Frances, January 13, 1856; and Bertha, March 8, 1859. Frederick is reported married to Elizabeth Todd Ashby on October 17, 1876, and Bertha to Henry Lee Tatnall on December 15, 1888. These newly documented collateral families remain compilation-based; the separate original 1927 certificate supports the already recorded son William, not all of these siblings.

Evidence and limits Charles S. Keyser, The Keyser Family (Philadelphia: Wm. F. Fell & Co., 1889), printed pp. 129, 132-134 (PDF pages 175, 178-180). Scanned printed pages inspected. Historical family compilation, not original vital records. https://archive.org/details/keyserfamilydesc00keys

Status: Historical compilation lead. The named relationships and dates have not been independently verified from original vital or probate records. Proposed family connections are documented in these notes; they are not asserted as new biological tree links.

Her son Dr. William Henry Wallace’s original 1927 death certificate names his mother as Katharine Frances Keyser, Philadelphia-born; wife Anna L. Wallace was the informant. A typed St. John’s English Lutheran register transcription records Catharine F. Keyser’s marriage to William H. Wallace on 16 February 1843. The 1889 Keyser genealogy, p. 132, gives her parents as Elhanan Winchester Keyser and Maria Fox, birth 20 October 1820 and death 18 March 1888. This parentage remains a compiled claim. The Philadelphia death index confirms Katharine F. Wallace died 18 March 1888, age 67 years 5 months, and was buried 21 March at Woodlands. Its calculated birth about 1821 conflicts with its own age; the recorded age is consistent with late 1820. Original death certificate not yet viewed.

Source notes

Original 1880 U.S. census, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, ED 483, written page 24 (stamped/index page 12D), enumerated June 9, 1880, 3414 Baring Street, dwelling 190, family 192, lines 26–30. William Wallace, 64, head; Catharine Wallace, 59, wife; Elizabeth Wallace, 67, sister; Emily Wallace, 24, daughter; Bertha Wallace, 21, daughter. Correlated with the existing older William Henry Wallace, Katharine Frances Keyser, Emily Frances Wallace and Bertha Wallace Tatnall through names, ages and family context, plus daughters’ original death records. Establishes household residence on enumeration date, William/Catharine as spouses and Emily/Bertha as William’s daughters. It does not independently establish biological maternity; the daughters’ death records supply their mother’s name. Elizabeth is retained as a source observation without merging an unidentified person. All five listed as Pennsylvania-born. Date is an observed residence, not move-in date. Original image inspected October 14, 2026 and attached.
