8 October 2026 - Bloodline and ancestral-household research

Judson Reese, 35, is recorded as a railroad engineer with $250 personal estate in the original 1870 Sadsbury census, dwelling 457/family 459. The household includes Louisa, Margaret, Kate, David and John. This supplies an approximate age and occupation but does not name his parents.

Census ages and reported origins remain source assertions. A household relationship to its head does not automatically establish biological maternity. Earlier qualifications and conflicting evidence remain preserved.

Earlier archive notes (preserved): Research update — October 7–8, 2026 (original records reviewed):

Margaret E. Schrader’s 1943 death certificate explicitly names Adam Judson Reese, born Chester County, as her father and Louisa Kendig as her mother. Louisa’s 1880 census records her as widowed.

Evidence qualification: The certificate is retrospective for parentage. A. J. Rees serving as sale clerk in the estate account does not alone prove identity. Widowhood gives a latest bound for death only if the husband correlation is correct.

Family connection assessment: Retain existing links; no automatic relationship changes.

Next research: Obtain original death or estate evidence for Judson and the children’s birth records.

Prior saved research (preserved verbatim):

The original 1859 John Kendig estate petition explicitly identifies Louisa Kendig’s husband as A. Judson Rees and places the couple in Sadsbury Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. The existing historical marriage transcription records Adam Judson Reese and Louisa Kendig on May 20, 1858. The uncommon given names, spouse and locality correlate these forms. [WEB-20261007-210012-f14b9e32]; [700.10.002]

No sibling relationship between Adam Judson Reese and Eliza Jane Reese, wife of Louisa’s brother Andrew Jackson Kendig, is proved by these records. Parents and birth date are not established. Levering (1897), p.248, reports Judson’s death in 1877; that year remains a compiled lead. [700.80.015]
