Provisionally placed as a son of [[person:john_linn_earlier|John Linn (earlier generation)]], the existing proposed father of [[person:john_linn_1749|Reverend John Linn]]. The handwritten York County will abstract p. 298 names John and David among children of John Linn of Cumberland Township (will 25 November 1792; probate 14 November 1793). Fowler's Linn chapter, pp. 16-17, explicitly identifies that son John as the Reverend John Linn (1749-1820). This is consistent with Reverend John's original 1818 will naming his brother David. The combined evidence supports a provisional placement, not fully proved identity/parentage. Mother, full/half sibling status, David's dates and residence remain unestablished. No speculative migration was entered.

Original York will H-526 and the identity bridge require confirmation; another abstract dates the will November 21 rather than 25. The October 8 conclusion below predates this additional evidence and is preserved as research history.

Earlier research (preserved): 8 October 2026 - Bloodline and ancestral-household research

Explicitly named as Reverend John Linn’s brother in the January 12, 1818 will, proved September 8, 1820. The testator directs his executors to remit interest on a $100 bond held against David. This establishes brotherhood, but neither full versus half sibling status nor their parents are stated. No parent link is inferred from the archive’s earlier John Linn profile.
