Earlier archive notes (preserved): Sarah Hope 5th great-grandmother of James 1981 genealogy; corroborated by independent compiled genealogy Birth: 1739 Death: 20 Sep 1815 Recorded parents: Thomas Hope , Jennet Wilken . Relationship estimate: 80% — uncertain. Father’s will inspected; maternity remains supported by the compiled pedigree. Thomas Hope’s will explicitly names a daughter Sarah and gives her £50. Identification with Sarah Hope Scott is supported by the compiled family history; the bequest does not give her married surname. Father relationship estimate 90%; mother Jennet remains 80% because this will does not establish maternity. Sources: HISTORY · WALDRON · SCOTT_HOPE · HOPE_WILL · THOMAS1806
