THE STUART FAMILY ARCHIVE

# Research checkpoint — 20 September 2026
## Outcome
No new person, relationship, life event or photograph was confirmed in this pass. The latest person tree remains **91 people**, including Maria Politis, and the separate evidence index remains **150 entries**. Preferred values and all three James Diven identities are preserved. The Word biography, biography HTML, visual tree HTML, person JSON and evidence archive did not require changes.
The research workbook now brings the preceding Scott findings into the actionable queue: candidate probate file 25407; the two original Scott/Wallace records cited by the compiled Waldron genealogy; and the still-open 2 April 1838 Tagg transfer. These are requests, not established family facts. It now has **16 requests: 12 open, 1 conditional and 3 completed**. Summary formulas cover all 16 requests rather than the earlier partial range. Existing request text and user response columns are retained, except the Greek naturalization limitations cell is refreshed with the repository coverage check.
## Sources checked in this pass
- **NARA Chicago naturalization holdings:** official table lists Record Group 21, Illinois Northern District, Chicago indexes, declarations and petitions, each 1872–1991. Gaps or incomplete files remain possible. This puts the existing Anna 1982 and Nick 1977 petition targets within the listed coverage; it does not confirm the individual petitions or identity matches. No petition image inspected and no archive request, purchase or contact made. https://www.archives.gov/chicago/finding-aids/naturalization-records.html - NARA's digitization partner directory was opened, but no exact target petition was located or inspected: https://www.archives.gov/digitization/digitized-by-partners . Do not describe this as an exhaustive collection search or a no-match result. - Public searches for Anna and Peter Froustis surfaced already-known newspaper notices. They added no independently verified new facts. The Smith-Corcoran Anna page requested security verification; interaction stopped. Direct Legacy page opens failed. Search snippets are not new original record images. - The preceding Ancestry Browser Validation Error 54 is carried into the tracker as an access limitation. It was not reclassified as no matches. FamilySearch, MyHeritage, Findmypast, WikiTree, Cyndi's List and USGenWeb were not freshly searched in this pass; earlier statuses remain historical.
## Precise pending work
1. **John H. Scott estate, Chester County file 25407, 1896, East Fallowfield.** Index p1100 has Administration, Inventory and Accounts; Will flag No. Identity as John Humphrey remains unconfirmed until the original file is compared. Seek the death affidavit, administrator, widow and heirs. Visible public estate directory ends at file 19282; this is a digitization limit, not proof the original is unavailable. https://www.chesco.org/DocumentCenter/View/83366/Wills-and-Administrations-1714-1923 ; https://www.chesco.org/1720/Wills-Administrations-1714-1923 2. **Scott/Wallace originals:** Holy Trinity, West Chester marriage, 23 April 1850; Margaret A. Scott Pennsylvania death certificate 119594, 30 December 1907. Compiled citations S1958 and S2044 only: https://www.markwaldron.us/s3.htm . Neither original read; do not infer church membership. 3. **Alexander Stuart NY:** candidate death certificate 16918, 19 April 1894, Franklin. County and identity not proved by index. Naturalization accession 11020, Davenport, 24 December 1855, age30, FROM Dundalk1844 remains provisional; FROM is not birthplace. Franklin in the family project is Delaware County, New York, never Venango County, Pennsylvania. 4. **Diven:** original 2 April 1838 Tagg transfer; 20 December 1811 Cumberland deed pp498–499 and U/W book identifier; estate files D091 (1813) and D105 (1818). Keep James Senior, James Junior/Nancy, and grandson James/Mary Jane separate; Sarah Tagg is not Sarah Williamson. Henderson/Nancy neighboring will remains rejected. 5. **Greek petitions:** use existing card numbers Anna574453 (1982) and Nick531297 (1977) as retrieval leads; establish full identity from original petitions before assigning new immigration or parentage facts. 6. **Fiore/Traina:** Sandra's father's given name and a reliable birth/death/marriage anchor are still needed. He, not Sandra, took the Traina surname after his Fiore father died. No surname-only record assigned.
## Preservation and handoff
Fresh Family/research Drive listings and the latest 0634 checkpoint were read before edits. Main files still matched the 0600 versions and index/log/archive the 0634 versions. An exclusive run lock prevented overlap. The workbook was imported, inspected and rendered before edits; changed rows rendered afterward; formulas and retained cells checked. Only the workbook and append-only search log are updated in place, with this new checkpoint saved separately. No people or evidence entries removed; no new evidence images this pass.
For the morning report distinguish **the confirmed original Scott death-register findings from the earlier pass** (farmer; death22October1896 EastFallowfield; recorded paralysis; Octorara burial27October; age81 conflicting with preferred1815birth) from the **candidate Scott estate and Alexander death-index match**. Do not present this pass's repository coverage as a new ancestor discovery. The existing evidence archive contains all 150 entries and source images through the probate-index pass; this administrative tracker checkpoint is separate. Remaining actions involving security checks or archive retrieval belong in the morning report, not overnight questions.
