## Correction after original census reinspection

The original 1950 census image was reexamined on 21 September 2026 after the user cleared the security challenge: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QHN-PQHW-NK2Y . Sheet 6, line 30, household 54 lists Sam Monasteri, head, married, age 27, birthplace Illinois, optician, 48 hours, eye-glass manufacturing. The viewer's person index (6X1T-LBTB) independently displays Illinois. The earlier project transcription Louisiana was an assistant transcription error, not a source conflict. That reading is withdrawn.

The candidate Chicago birth entry no longer conflicts with Sam's census birth state. This removes an erroneous objection; it does not itself prove the Sam/Salvatore identity. A marriage record or another connecting source remains needed before adding the candidate parents. Pastana Sicilia is retained as indexed, without an assumed place-name correction.
