Saverio Monasteri was born in Partanna on 5 December 1881 at 2 a.m. His father declared the birth that morning at 9:30 a.m. The birth-day wording is “oggi,” meaning today, within a declaration dated 5 December 1881. The father is Francesco Monasteri, recorded age 37, farmer resident in Partanna. The mother is Antonia Bianco, recorded age 33, farmer, explicitly his wife living with him. The address is read as Vicolo San Carlo; no house number is supplied.
A marginal annotation records 14 January 1906 and Felicia Muratore. That exact wife and wedding date, together with the parents named in original marriage act 3, securely connect this birth to Saverio's 1906 marriage and the existing Salvatore/Saverio Monasteri profile. His Saverio name is independently documented in the original arrival and passenger records. No duplicate person is created.
The contemporary birth act conflicts with the naturalization petition's 15 November 1881. The preferred birth date is now 5 December 1881, with the petition date explicitly retained as a conflicting later assertion. The reason for the discrepancy is not established. The original date still gives age 24 at the January 1906 marriage and Francesco's August 1906 birth. The 1909 birth act for Antonio records Saverio as 28, although he was 27 under either 1881 date.
Francesco and Antonia are now linked as spouses because the original birth act states their marriage relationship. Their exact wedding date and earlier ancestry remain unknown. Their stated ages suggest Francesco was born about 1843–1844 and Antonia about 1847–1848; these are estimates, not verified birth dates. Francesco was alive at this declaration and deceased by his son's January 1906 marriage. Antonia's death date remains unknown.
The 1881 annual index, image 208, includes Saverio with Francesco Monasteri and Antonia Bianco and points to act 492. Earlier inspection of the November dates did not locate him because the original event is in December. This resolves the original-birth search, while preserving the genuine disagreement between the Italian birth act and later U.S. petition.
