CANDIDATE IDENTITY RESEARCH — not proof that this Angelo is the 1914 resident at 917 Milton Avenue.
Carolyn Conforti's family account, Northwest Italian News, December 2024, pp. 7–8 (Black Diamond lodge section), names her grandparents Angelo Traina and Argia Giovannoni. She places Angelo's origins in Misilmeri and describes their Chicago household with nine children. Her reported departure in 1910 at eighteen differs from the 11 June 1911 arrival certified in the linked naturalization trail. The article supplies neither Angelo's parents nor the Milton address; a family reminiscence cannot settle those gaps.
The Reverend Robert A. Traina memoir in the 2011 New York Annual Conference Journal, pp. 359–360, names Angelo and Argia Giovanonni Traina as his parents and calls Robert the oldest of nine children. This separately corroborates the couple and household; it does not supply Angelo's parents or a Milton address. Comparison: WEB-20261018-011939-9a48a17f (1937 declaration/1940 petition), WEB-20261026-045926-b4b84dc9 (arrival certificate), and the 1914 directory. Misilmeri is strengthened as a family tradition, but Siculiana in the linked passenger record and the 1892 birth-act discrepancies remain documented. No candidate vital details, descendants or kinship transferred to the unresolved profile. Follow-up: find an explicit parent/sibling or address bridge; work item c2943ecf-79d8-4d58-937e-a8848fa2a499 remains open.
NEW CHURCH-RECORD LEAD: David R. Bauer, 'Introduction and Tribute to Robert A. Traina,' Wesleyan Theological Journal 30:2 (1995), p. 203, identifies Robert's father as a lay pastor of the Italian Mission Free Methodist Church, Melrose Park (https://wesley.nnu.edu/fileadmin/imported_site/wesleyjournal/1995-wtj-30-2.pdf). This supplies a focused church-record target, not a Milton identity bridge.
The Marston Memorial Historical Center's Spring 2009 newsletter, 'History Detectives, Part Two,' PDF page 3, reports receipt of Bethany/Italian Mission records, including membership, marriages, baptisms and deaths, with Traina among the surnames (https://historical.fmcusa.org/wp-content/uploads/2009-02-Spring.pdf). This is a holdings notice only; underlying registers have not been inspected. The public catalog search for Melrose returned 14 unrelated titles; no digitized register located. Research inquiries may incur fees, so none ordered or sent. The notice's browser PDF is readable, but its original download did not complete; it is a linked finding aid, not an attached register.
