On 7 January 1830 before Philadelphia alderman John Binns, Samuel Haydock, Philadelphia plumber, authenticated the handwriting of deceased Samuel Garrigues, a subscribing witness to Samuel and Hannah Hopkins's deed to George Justice. Recorded/examined 11 January 1830 by P. Frailey. Earlier deed dated 16 June 1789; its beginning is on adjacent image 272 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSJS-QFGY).

Visually checked reading: '(nephew one of the subscribing witnesses to the above written Indenture who is now deceased)' follows Haydock's description; the text is grammatically incomplete. It appears to identify Haydock as nephew of deceased witness Garrigues, but do not silently insert omitted words or treat the exact kinship direction as conclusively proved. The image names Samuel Garrigues as late of Philadelphia.

Research significance: strengthens the Haydock–Garrigues collateral network and supplies a pre-1830 death limit for this witness, helping distinguish him from later namesakes. This record does NOT name Rebecca as Hannah Norris/Wallace's mother and does NOT prove the proposed maternal bridge. Association with Rebecca is for research relevance, not a newly proved parent-child relationship.
