THE STUART FAMILY ARCHIVE
Rachel Clemens Gorgas
- Recorded life status
- deceased
8 October 2026 - Clemens and earlier Keyser research, third round
The estate inventory of Garret Clemens lists Rachell among seven children receiving advances. The administration bond names George Gorgas, Northern Liberties lumber merchant, as a bondsman. Together with the Keyser genealogy p. 132 identifying Rachel as George's wife and Catherine's sister, these details strongly correlate this daughter with Rachel Clemens Gorgas. A father link to Garrit is recorded; no maternity or exact birth/death date is inferred.

Earlier archive notes (preserved): 8 October 2026 - Keyser and Wallace family research, second round
The footnote on p. 132 calls Rachel, wife of Geo. Gorgas, a sister of Catherine Clemens. It reports thirteen children, of whom three survived when that account was compiled, identifying them by married names. These claims remain a historical family account; Garrit and Keturah are not automatically assigned as her biological parents merely because they are named for sister Elizabeth.
