Original Philadelphia Deed Book D78, pp. 50–55: John Clemens of North Wales, Montgomery County, yeoman, and Catharine his wife to Clement Remington, 11 April 1799, recorded 20 May 1799. FamilySearch DGS 008067437, item 2, images 27–29. All three full-spread original scans are attached in the PDF.

The deed recites Garret Clemens’s death intestate, naming widow Keturah and eleven children: Elizabeth, John, Mary, Christian, Catharine, Jacob, Rachel, Abraham, Sarah, Ann and Hannah (p. 52). It calls John the eldest son (p. 53). It references Keturah and John’s Orphans’ Court petition of 25 March 1799, adjudication to John, security for the other children’s shares, and Keturah’s dower release dated 27 March 1799. The first seven names match those in the 15 January 1799 inventory, providing a direct link to that estate.

Limits: Keturah is the widow; this deed does not establish that she was the mother of any particular child. It does not supply Christian or Jacob’s age, spouse, later residence, or an explicit male designation. Their identity and sex-evidence review flags remain open. Do not merge with the Jacob married to Sarah Woodrow solely from the 1812 Germantown deed, or with another Garret Clemens family. Property ownership is not recorded as a residence event.

Residence expressly stated: John Clemens, North Wales, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, 11 April 1799; Garret is described as of Gwynedd Township at the 11 April 1793 conveyance and of Germantown at the 14 April 1796 conveyance. These are dated descriptions, not move-in dates. Original scans visually inspected, including the heirs clause; AI full-text transcription was used only as a finding aid.
