Original quitclaim deed dated 6 September 1894, Delaware County, New York, page 196, image 102 of 745: Margaret Stuart, Mary J. Stuart and Albert E. Stuart of Franklin are described as the widow and two heirs-at-law of deceased Alexander Stuart. Henry J. Stuart, also of Franklin, is named as another heir and the grantee. Consideration is $2,301. The deed describes land acquired from John Wright on 17 March 1866, recorded 23 March 1866 in deed book 61, page 148. The deed states Alexander died intestate. Recorded 15 October 1894. Names, deed date, consideration, prior land reference, intestacy clause, signatures and recording date checked against enlarged original images on 20 September 2026. The deed establishes that Alexander was deceased by 6 September 1894. Combined with his identified 1892 census household, it narrows the working death window to after the 1892 enumeration and before 6 September 1894. This window is an inference conditional on the census identity, not an exact death date. His parents and Irish locality remain unknown.
