30 October 2026 — Event-date review. Canonical death date follows saved original certificate 4754 (WEB-20261005-060318-f3a9b235). The earlier compiled June 20 claim is superseded for the death field, not erased: its text and source remain below. The certificate directly records the death; this is not resolution of the separate birth/identity questions.

30 October 2026 — Source-review correction. Saved original death certificate 4754 supports death January 20, 1950 at home in Belleville, Union Township, Mifflin County, and burial January 24 at Upper Octorara. [[evidence:WEB-20261005-060318-f3a9b235|Original death certificate]]. Its parent names Alexander Stuart and Margaret Sonsburger are retrospective informant evidence; preserve the spelling variant alongside Sonberger. The original church register establishes marriage to Katharine Wallace on March 31, 1910, distinct from the March 30 application. [[evidence:WEB-20261005-060309-f2ea03e3|Original church marriage]]. Their son's original birth certificate corroborates the parental couple. [[evidence:WEB-20261005-060312-4c696331|Harry's original birth certificate]]. Earlier statements below that these originals were missing are superseded. Earlier June death-date and Lancaster death-place reports remain historical conflicts, with the contemporary certificate preferred. George A./H. Stewart's identity and football participation remain unresolved. No new certainty percentage or original inspection is claimed.

Earlier research retained for context; later original-record updates supersede the older qualifications:

Rev. Albert Emerson Stuart New 1894 deed and passport evidence 2nd great-grandfather of James FamilySearch tree and indexed marriage; parentage uncertain Birth: November 9, 1866, New York Death: January 20, 1950, Belleville, Pennsylvania (preferred FamilySearch tree value) Recorded parents: Alexander Stewart , Margaret Sonberger . Relationship estimate: 75% — uncertain. FamilySearch and compiled genealogy agree on the parent couple, with census sources attached; 1875 census household inspected; adult identity and conflicting ages still require confirmation. Death-date conflict: FamilySearch says January 20, 1950, whereas Diven compilation says June 20, 1950. FamilySearch also suggests George H/A Stewart in 1870/1880 censuses is Albert; that identity is unconfirmed (subjective estimate 50%). Do not treat absence from one census as proof of identity. Original 1900 census gives December 1866, age 33, minister; indexed age 34 is a transcription discrepancy. March 30, 1910 · Marriage application Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Affidavit affirmed March 30, 1910, file 14666. Index labels this a marriage date, but the original inspected page is the application; ceremony date remains unconfirmed. Albert is a clergyman; neither party previously married. [M1910] Date not yet verified · Occupation Warwick Presbyterian Church, Ivyland, Pennsylvania. Pastor listed in Princeton Seminary Bulletin. [PRINCETON] January 24, 1950 · Burial claim Upper Octorara Church Cemetery, Parkesburg, Pennsylvania. FamilySearch tree assertion; death certificate and cemetery source must be checked. [FS] 1892 · Residence lead Franklin, Delaware County, New York. Listed in the FamilySearch profile and corresponding census source title; underlying household not yet inspected. [FS] 1900 · Passport application lead Pennsylvania. Original census inspected: Henry heads the household as a farmer; Margret is his widowed mother, Mary J his sister and Albert E his brother. Albert’s occupation is minister. Handwritten ages differ from index; see C1900_MARG. [FS] 1875 · Census household Franklin, Delaware County, New York. Household 155, page 17: Alexander, Margret, Marry J, Joseph and Albert Stewart; Daniel Northrup also enumerated. Albert age 8, son. Original census inspected: Henry heads the household as a farmer; Margret is his widowed mother, Mary J his sister and Albert E his brother. Albert’s occupation is minister. [C1900_MARG] Sources: FS · M1910 · DIVEN · PRINCETON · C1875 · C1900_MARG The Princeton Seminary Bulletin, volume XV, June 1921, no. 1, printed pages 42–43 (PDF pages 46–47), lists Albert Emerson Stuart under the class of 1896 and as pastor of Warwick Presbyterian Church, R.F.D., Ivyland, Pennsylvania. This documents an educational class association and Presbyterian ministry for the named man. The match to the family minister is consistent with his full name and occupation; independent identity confirmation from an admission or alumni biographical file remains outstanding. Degree, enrollment dates and pastorate start/end dates are not specified.

College and football follow-up, September 22, 2026: The 1900 Catalogue of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity places Albert Emerson Stuart in the Tau chapter at Hamilton College under the class heading 1891, with a clerical occupation and Oak Lane, Philadelphia address. This is a plausible match to the minister in the family record, but the OCR listing does not name his parents or verify football participation. Treat the college connection as an identity lead pending original page and biographical corroboration. Joe’s belief that he played college football is retained as an unverified research question. Search Hamilton yearbooks and athletic records circa 1887–1891; do not infer Princeton University athletics from seminary attendance. [100.60.002]

October 4, 2026 — Original scan inspected: Union Theological Seminary, Alumni Directory 1836–1958 (1958), printed page 30 / PDF page 64, Columbia University Libraries. The entry names Albert Emerson Stuart, born Franklin, New York, November 9, 1866; Hamilton College 1891; Union Seminary 1891–1892; Princeton Seminary 1894–1896; ordained May 28, 1896 (Philadelphia North presbytery). Teaching: Media, Pennsylvania, 1892–1893; Greek, New Brunswick, New Jersey, 1893–1894. Pastorates: Oak Lane, Philadelphia, 1896–1900; Chanceford, Woodbine, 1900–1910; Neshaminy-in-Warwick, Hartsville, 1910–1923; Upper Octoraro, Parkesburg, 1923–1939. It reports residence and death at Lancaster, January 20, 1950. This strengthens the January death date over the June compilation and introduces a Lancaster/Belleville place conflict. Original death certificate remains outstanding. Full name, exact birthday and matching pastorates strongly support identity; parents and football participation are not established. Abbreviation key checked; no degree inferred from the single Hamilton year. Source: https://www.columbia.edu/cu/lweb/digital/collections/cul/texts/ldpd_6121990_000/ldpd_6121990_000.pdf .

Additional October 4, 2026 education evidence: The New-York Evangelist, July 2, 1891, printed/PDF page 4, Hamilton College commencement report, explicitly lists Albert Emerson Stuart of Franklin among A.B. in Course recipients. Original scan visually inspected, including enlarged degree list. This establishes the reported Hamilton degree beyond the abbreviated alumni-directory entry. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/16/The_New-York_Evangelist_1891-07-02-_Vol_62_Iss_27_IA_sim_evangelist-and-religious-review_1891-07-02_62_27.pdf Samuel Hopkins Adams’s Class of 1891 annalist letter, delivered June 1941 and published on Hamilton’s site, recalls Albert Stuart entering the senior High Honor group in connection with the class valedictorian discussion. Treat this as a classmate’s retrospective account, not a contemporary honors transcript. The letter discusses the class’s football team but does not name Albert as a player. Football participation remains unconfirmed. https://www.hamilton.edu/about/history/half-century-annalists-letters/1891 .

October 4, 2026 — Follow-through on original marriage file and census. Delaware County case 14666, application image 321, is dated March 30, 1910. Adjacent case wrapper image 322 expressly says "No duplicate returned"; this file does not establish a ceremony date. Wrapper: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9PX7-CBV . The original 1930 census, Sadsbury Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, sheet 6B line 100 continues on sheet 7A lines 1–2: Albert E. Stuart, minister/church, with Katharine W. as wife and Henry W. as son. Katharine is recorded age 55 and Henry age 18. This supports recording the spouse relationship with Katharine Wallace alongside their original 1910 application, while leaving the wedding date unconfirmed. Census images: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9R84-9WCK and https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9R84-9WH7 .

October 4, 2026 — Pennsylvania government death-index scan visually inspected: 1950 S Soundex, PDF page 109 / printed page 1705, ALBERT E STUART, UNION T, county 44, January 20, 1950, certificate 4754. County 44 is Mifflin in the Commonwealth county-code table. This is a strong correlated match by name/initials and exact date, but the death certificate remains uninspected. It independently supports January 20 over the June compilation and records a Mifflin locality rather than the alumni directory’s Lancaster. Preserve this place conflict pending certificate inspection; no parents or birthday are established by this index. October 5, 2026 — Original death certificate 4754 now inspected and saved as WEB-20261005-060318-f3a9b235. Albert Emerson Stuart died January 20, 1950 at home in Belleville, Union Township, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. Born November 9, 1866, New York State; age 83, married, minister; informant Harry W. Stuart of Belleville. It names father Alexander Stuart and mother Margaret Sonsburger (source spelling; preserve alongside Sonberger). These birth and parent statements are retrospective informant evidence. Burial January 24, 1950, Upper Octorara Cemetery, Sadsburg Township [source spelling], Chester County. Exact name, birth date, occupation and family informant correlate the certificate to this profile. The certificate supports Belleville and January 20 over the earlier Lancaster and June 20 reports; those conflicting historical sources remain above. The index’s Union City normalization is not used. Earlier index source WEB-20261005-004750-b0c8e272 is preserved. No new certainty percentage is assigned, and George A./H. Stewart’s identity remains unresolved.

Original church register WEB-20261005-060309-f2ea03e3 establishes the wedding with Katharine Wallace on March 31, 1910 at St. Martin’s Church, Radnor. This resolves the former ceremony-date gap without converting the March 30 application into a wedding record. Original birth certificate of their son (WEB-20261005-060312-4c696331) records Albert E. Stuart, with EMERSON inserted, New York-born clergyman, age 44, as father, and Katharine Wallace as mother, on August 21, 1911.
