2 November 2026 — maiden name and parents established from original records [[evidence:WEB-20261102-032150-c309488a|Four original Parkison/Diven estate and deed images]] resolve the earlier unknown maiden name. The 28 September 1832 release expressly names Nancy Diven, widow of James Diven, formerly Nancy Parkison. John Parkison's will (1 April 1802, proved 14 April 1802) names wife Jean, son Richard and daughters Katharine, Ann and Elizabeth. The later same-land recital identifies Ann as wife of James Diven Junior; the 1832 release identifies the same sisters and executor Richard. Her 12 May 1838 release explicitly names 'my Mother Jane Parkinson'. Ann/Nancy and Jean/Jane variants are retained. These records, together with the distinctive Tyrone widow/children household in 1819 and 1840, support Nancy's identity and parent links. John's will names David Mitchel as 'my Brother', but that does not establish Jane's maiden surname. No new lifespan dates inferred. James Junior's link to James Senior remains unproved; do not merge them merely to connect the groups.
Earlier research, retained as dated history; statements below that maiden name/parents were unknown are now superseded: October 28, 2026 — original guardianship evidence [[evidence:WEB-20261028-162151-1c213120|Cumberland Orphans' Court, vol.7, p.118, 9 February 1819]] expressly identifies Nancy as mother of John, Alexander, Richard and Sarah, minor children of her deceased husband James Divin the younger, late of Tyrone Township. The court appoints John and Joseph Divin guardians, without stating their relationship. Original page visually inspected; https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G99B-JJ49 . The distinctive widow and four-child cluster correlates with the later 1840 deed (600.20.004/.1/.2). All four children are called under fourteen; no exact birth dates inferred. Nancy's maiden name remains unknown. This supports the household, not James Junior's parentage or an identity merger with James Senior's deceased son.
Earlier research retained: Widow of James Diven Junior. Signed a dower release to John Souder on 18 March 1840 for stated consideration of $1; recorded 11 May 1841. Maiden name and parentage unknown. Do not merge with Margaret Nancy Waddell, the compiled wife of James Senior. Perry Deeds 1840–1842, images 197–198 of 368, printed pages 380–382. Original handwriting inspected; evidence 600.20.004, 600.20.004.1 and 600.20.004.2.
